Why We Exist

To unite young, successful arts organizations and gifted individuals
in a collaborative and collegial atmosphere.

We have received program funding from the Heinz Endowment Small Arts Initiative
as well as indirect support from University of Pittsburgh, the Richard King Mellon Foundation
and the Bayer Foundation. OvreArts is a member of the Greater Pittsburgh Arts Council
as well as the League of American Orchestras.

Who We Are

Our carefully selected performers are stellar young artists who have dedicated their lives
to their love of composition and performance. Together we aim to explore and experience music,
not as isolated artists, but through an engaging musical dialogue with each other and with our audience.

What and How

We create experiences (not concerts) by crafting pioneering works of art
which aim to bridge the gap between audience and artist.
Every work is a premiere composition, carefully tailored to each unique event
with the goal of inspiring the heart, mind and spirit of our audience.

"I tried mightily to describe OvreArts to my co-workers at WQED today, but failed. I could not do justice to the experience -- the quality of composition, the texture and flow of the works on the [Winter Overture] program, the high level of artistry demonstrated by your artists, and the strong and sincere emotion carried by the music -- It truly was an outstanding artistic success!" - Classical QED 89.3's Ted Sohier
